80s Horror Living Room | 3D Environment Artwork

This scene is part of an ongoing series where I recreate nostalgic environments with a focus on mood, storytelling, and atmosphere. Inspired by late-night horror marathons and classic 80s home video culture, this 3D environment captures the feeling of settling in for a night of VHS horror movies, lit by the warm glow of a vintage TV and a couple of flickering candles.

The space is filled with retro details—from the stack of VHS tapes and a working VCR, to the Sony Trinitron TV playing an old horror double feature promo. Posters of cult horror films, stacks of magazines, a bowl of snacks, and even a sleeping cat complete the scene, adding layers of storytelling and familiarity. My aim was to evoke the feeling of a quiet, late-night space where time slows down and nostalgia takes over.

This environment was modeled in Blender and rendered in Cycles. It was created for my YouTube ambience videos, where subtle animations, sound design, and vintage media bring the room to life.

I textured the vhs tapes, Coca-Cola Classic can, Leonard Maltin guide, and Doritos Cool Ranch bag. Many other objects were modeled by other artists:
