USS Moreell (Derf Class Refit)

This is my ongoing Blender project of the Derf Class starship, originally introduced in the FASA Star Trek RPG of the 1980s. I’ve always been drawn to the aesthetics of this design, and chose to name my version USS Moreell after Admiral Ben Moreell, founder of the U.S. Navy Seabees. An appropriate namesake, as the Derf class was conceived as a tender specializing in repair and construction.

This build is a refit hybrid, blending elements from TOS-era styling with post-refit components. Many of the base parts originated with Captain_Mojo’s 3D models, though I’ve reworked sections of the hull to give the ship a bit more detail. Texturing is now underway, though there is still a fair amount of modeling and refinement to be completed.

Once finished, the USS Moreell will become a featured centerpiece on my Star Trek YouTube channel, Trek By Deck, where I intend to explore Starfleet ships, their design, and interiors.
